Actor and director Cheran stated that actress Priyamani did not deserve the National Award because she is not a committed actress.  At first Cheran wanted to rope Priyamani for his movie Pokkisham but she has turned it down. 

Surya is now working in Botswana in Africa.    According to director KV Anad, the stunts sequences were scored by Kanal Kannan and filmed under the African stunt choreographer France.
