Recently Director K.Balachandar was honoured with life time achievement award by the Rotary Club of Madras, Mylapore Uptown at Kamaraj Arangam. Vairamuthu spoke at extent about the director. He said that only Balachander could have opted for 'Neerkumizhi' as the title of his first film.

 Many of the Kollywood directors have taken up to acting Joining this bandwagon is Director Tarun Gopi. Tarun Gopi who made his debut has a director in the Vishal starrer Thimmiru. He is the donning the lead role in the film titled Kattu Paya.The ravishing Reema Sen will pair with him. Reema had already acted under Tarun's direction. Presently she is doing the female lead role with Paruthiveeran Karthi in the Selvaraghavan film Aayirathil Oruvan. Kattu Paya is being directed by Azhagan. The camera is being handled by Hari's favourite assistant Riyan.Yuvan Shankar Raja will be setting the tunes to the lyrics penned by Simbu,Vaali and Tarun Gopi.

Director Selvaraghavan who was lying low in the matter of the reported rift between him and his friend music director Yuvan Shankar Raja has surfaced now with the theory that their friendship is not strained and they are in good vibes. But however Yuvan is reluctant to comment on the statement of Selva. Their combo flashback will reveal a string of musical super hits. After Kadhal Kondein, 7G Rainbow Colony, Pudhupettai and Yaaradi Nee Mohini, the most expected musical release from the Selva-Yuvan team was Aayirathil Oruvan.

Ace cameraman and director Jeeva passed away in St.Petersberg, Russia while shooting for a Tamil film "Dham Dhoom" with 'Jayem' Ravi as the hero, Kangana Ranaut, Laxmi Rai and other artists. An acclaimed cinematographer-turned-director, Jeeva had worked in over 40 films starting with Malayalam films.

Director K.S.Ravikumar earlier had great plans to direct superstar Rajnikanth for the film titled 'Jakku Bhai'. But KSR had to drop his plans when Rajnijkanth refused to take up the project. So with his Varalaru making massive waves throughout the globe and his forthcoming Dasavatharam ready to rock, the director has decided to commence his next project. 

Shankar seems to have endless problems with his cameraman. Nirav Shah was initially fixed for Rajnikanth's Robot but all of a sudden he was replaced by Thiru. Now it is learnt that Thiru has walked out of this project only to be replaced by Rathinavelu who is currently finishing Gautham Menon's Vaaranam Aayiram. Even in Annyan starring Vikram, the cameraman Manikandan handled the camera for the first half and Ravivarman did the second half.
