54^th Nationa Film Award for the year 2006 function took place in New Delhi on Tuesday.  The award was delivered by President Pratibha Patil. 

Best Actor award went to Soumitra Chatterjee and Best actress award went to Priyamani.  Priyamani received this award for her performance in Paruthiveeran.  Divya Chaphadkar won the Best Child Artist award.
