Changing tastes of audiences of Tamil Cinema is gradually welcoming whole lot of new genres and themes. Commercial masala movie filed with lots of absurdities are no more encouraged and the best illustration would be flops of all great leading heroes released during this year. Here comes Varnam, a celluloid color that will depict the different dimensions of man's dreams. SN Raju, a software engineer indeed had to quit his profession due to the insatiable passion for filmmaking. First one to pat his shoulders as a mentor was cinematographer-turned director Santhosh Sivan while he worked with him for the Malayalam blockbuster Ananda Badhram. Later he went to showcase some of his best stunning short films and this has landed him up in Kollywood to commence his directorial venture.
Varnam is about the caste problems that has been vividly prevailing in Tamil Nadu and how it affects each individual's life. On the parallel par, it is a flick that clearly states that dreams of youngsters will gradually get faded away as the days pass by.
