The story of Dasavatharam begins in 12^th century in India, with a character Nambi a staunch Vaishnavite priest and then Kamal plays Chinese man, CBI officer from Andhra Pradesh, old lady, leader from Afghanistan, a Scheduled Tribes’ leader, George Bush, a Punjabi, an American and finally a normal Kamal.
