Distributors and theatre owners have started giving importance to people who have political powers. The reason is they are frightened and threatened.
But the video pirates say that they are not bothered about this. Most of the pirated videos are available even before the first show of the films are completed. Asal’s pirated video have come to the streets on the release day itself. But the film Tamizh Padam took four weeks to get pirated. The same fate n is also with Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya.
The only reasons is that these films are being released by the heirs of political big wigs. There are views that the pirated videos can be totally abolished if only the political big wigs in the power release the films. But some are of the view that was also not possible. Tamil audience have no other alternative than to go the theatres to watch Paiyya. Paiyya which has Karthi and Thamanna in the lead roles has been directed by Lingusamy. The rights of the film has been acquired by Dayanidhi Azhagiri who is the son of the cabinet minister M K Azhagiri. Dayanidhi Azhagiri had earlier released the films Vaaranam Aayiram and Tamizh Padam. The pirated DVDs of this film were not available on the pavements for many weeks. The same thing will also happen with Paiyya also.
