 Rajni wanted to see Velayudham within a few days after watching Ezham Arivu. In fact Surya’s wife Jyothika had invited Rajni to see Ezham Arivu. But Rajni wanted to see Velayudham. So a date was fixed for this film to be screened in a preview theatre.
Cinema News From Tamilomovie.com At this juncture some of the Kannada fanatics protested before the theatres where Velayudham was being screened in Karnataka. Velayudham distributors were frustrated because of this. |

 The Fifth Vijay TV Awards function was held on 25th June 2011 at Nehru Indoor Stadium. Out of 149 films released in the year 2010, winners from 32 different categories were announced. These awards were chosen on the basis of the votes collected from the general public.

 Yesterday Rajni contacted the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha over the phone and congratulated her for the victory in the recent elections. He while speaking to her mentioned that Tamil Nadu has been saved because of her great victory.
In turn Jayalalitha has said that he should come back very soon to India. Rajni said that he will be back after one and half months. Later on he spoke to ex Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and enquired about his health. |
