Thyagarajan who donned the role of Malayur Mambattiyan in the film with the same title some 27 years back is remaking this film which has Prashanth in the lead role. While speaking about this film, he said,” 27 years back this film touched the hearts of people.

Everybody after seeing this film forgot my name and started calling me Mambattiyan. My son is acting now in the same film. I have changed Prashanth looks tougher and firm.

The story of the film is about a man who goes to revenge the people who killed his parents. All the hearts are in search of affection. What will happen if a girl who is slave to love and affection? There is this kind of romance in the film. We have made the scenes with extravaganza.

Nobody can sideline this film. This will be a visual treat to people who are fed up with commercial cinema. It is not an easy thing to shoot a film in a forest taking all the unit members. There are lots of hurdles in the path. We can’t come and go from these places as we like.

Prakash Raj is donning the role which Jai Shankar did in the original version. He enjoyed during the role. He said this was a challenging role. He encouraged me by saying that this film should come out well than my film. Vadivelu is donning the role which Goundamani did.

I was little worried whether Meera Jasmine would be able to do the role of Kannaatha which Saritha did. But she excelled.”
