Every filmmaker aspires to make a stylish film with these actors as they are the only ones to have a brilliant outlook and appropriate screen presence. Such is the charismatic stylish appeal of Ajith Kumar and Vikram, who have been seen more stylish in many films, both commercial and unconventional panoramas. Gautham Vasudev Menon in one of his recent interviews had mentioned that he wanted initially Ajith Kumar to play the lead role in Kaakha Kaakha. In fact, he was the first one to be approached soon after the completion of script, but Ajith Kumar openly said, “I don’t want to play a cop now…” It is noteworthy that some of the films during those time that Ajith played a cop role didn’t go well. Apparently, when approached Vikram, Gautham had got the same response. “He wasn’t fine with the script of Kaakha Kaakha although he liked it, but he was so much attracted to Saamy, which was also a cop story. So I had to approach Suriya for this film,” says Gautham Vasudev Menon. Of course, he has now directed Ajith Kumar in Yennai Arindhaal and is holding discussions with Vikram for a project.
