Sathyaraj to don the role of Deepika Padukone’s father

Sathyaraj will be donning the role of Deepika Padukone in a Hindi film which has Shahrukh Khan in the lead role. Director Rohit Shetty has directed many Hindi films including Golmaal Part 1 and 2, Singham (Singam in Tamil) and Bol Bachchan.

Since his films yield profits more than Rs 100 Crores, he is considered one of the top directors of Bollywood. His next Hindi film is titled Chennai Express. A train departs from Mumbai to Rameswaram.

Shahrukh Khan who is a North Indian travels by this train. He falls in love with his co-passenger Deepika Padukone who is a Tamilian. The story of this film is narrated in a comical way once they reach Rameswaram. Rohit Shetty has decided to shoot 50% of the film in the various locations in Tamil Nadu.

He has also decided to cast lots of Tamil actors in this film. Rohit Shetty has consulted with his counterparts in Tamil film industry that which Tamil actor would be suitable for the father’s role of Deepika Padukone. Most of them have suggested the name of Sathyaraj. It is understood that talks have already been held with Sathyaraj with regard to this.
