The following films were in the most expected films list. They are Ajith starrer Billa 2, Vijay starrer Thuppakki and Surya starrer Maatran. Billa 2 has now been released and the other two films are being sculpted.

Maatran is a film which has been produced by AGS and directed by K V Anand. Surya is donning the role of conjoined twins. Kajal Agarwal is pairing with Surya. Harris Jayaraj has composed the music.

During a recent meet, the media people had asked director K V Anand that whether Maatran and Priyamani’s Charulatha has the same story. K V Anand said, "There is no connection between this film and that. The story of Maatran is different while Charulatha has a different story. This film will speak about the interesting incidents and different feelings that take place in the lives of conjoined twins. Apart from all this, a social problem is also being extensively narrated in this film Maatran."

There was information that this film will hit the screens on 15th August but now the release date has been postponed since there are lot of graphic works involved in most of the sequences. Apart from this, music composer Harris Jayaraj is yet to compose music for a song. So it is understood that the film may hit the screens during the month of September.

K V Anand has also made an announcement. He has mentioned, "For the film Maatran, sequences pertaining to younger days Surya is to be shot.
