How different Yaman is from usual political thrillers?

Vijay Antony’s successful graph as an actor has been scaling greater heights with every movie. He has been gradually gaining more fan following base, which isn’t confined only to the boundaries of Tamil speaking territories, but takes a greater scope in other regional lands too.

It is so much evident with his last year release ‘Picchaikaaran’, which was sold on Telugu dubbing rights on just 30Lacs and spanned a huge profit of 30Crore figure. Although, his ‘Saithan’ didn’t perform equally well in the box office, there is a huge expectation landing up for his upcoming film ‘Yaman’.

This is a political thriller directed by Jeeva Shankar, who has handled cinematography as well for this movie. He made his debut directorial with Vijay Antony through the movie ‘Naan’, which was a tremendous hit. Speaking about the film, Jeeva Shankar says, “Usually, when a film based on political thriller is made, it leads to a stereotypical aspect of how people have perceived the politics.

But this will be the first ever movie of this genre to based on a politician’s perspective.” The film is bankrolled by Lyca Productions starring Miya George in female lead role and is scheduled for release in February.
