“If Jyotika and others tell I respect women, all credits go to my mom” – Suriya

Suriya isn’t just praised his cool and handsome looks nor alone for his spellbinding performance in movies, but he holds special mention for the way he treats the girls and women at his neighborhood, family and office. This happens to be one of his highlighting attributes that has made Suriya to the top levels of career.

The actor in his recent interview with the media has mentioned saying, “If Jyotika and others tell me that I respect women, all credits go to my mom. Her way of raising us as children and her way of living made me respect every woman… I still remember the day, when I earned my first salary and gifted her sari worth 800 rupees. There was a joyful glow on her face and she immediately wore it and went to Temple.

When I had to quit my job at Textile Export Company in Ambattur to join cinema, everyone had questioned and advised my mother why should I leave the good job and join cinema. But she just told a word – “I am confident that my son will succeed.” She would fast for days before my movie release and when I ask, she tells, “I cannot teach you acting, but all that I can do is this.”
