Karthika is pairing with Jeeva in the film Ko directed by K V Anand. Recently she gave an interview to the media:
So you wanted to act like your mum? I didn’t even have a bit of interest in acting in my younger days. I knew that my mother was a popular actress when I was at the age of 10 itself.
I had a lot of interest in education. I was selected as one among the top 10 students in the international school which I was studying. My interest towards cinema came when I was studying 10th standard. My mother taught me the difficulties in cinema than the money and fame. Your first film? I paired with Nagarjuna son Chaitanya in the film Josh. This film gave me a good introduction in Telugu film industry. I am currently acting in the Malayalam film Magara Manniam directed by Lenin Rajendran. I am pairing with Santosh Shivan and donning two types of get ups in this film. Next I will be acting in K V Anand’s Tamil film Ko. Though I was born and brought up in Mumbai, I had no interest in Bollywood films. Tamil cinema gave life for my mother. So I also want to act in Tamil films and earn a good name. About your mother? I am really astounded about my mother who had created records by acting in 250 films. Each of mother’s film is a big lesson for me. My mother’s Mudhal Mariyadhai and Kadhal Oviyam have inspired me a lot. Will you act in glamour roles? Glamour means not lessening your dress. If you are able to bring out your acting talents, then only you can shine in glamour. Will you act with Rajni and Kamal? I am ready to act with both who have acted with my mother.
