Pa Ranjith is directing the film Kabali which has Rajinikanth, Radhika Apte, Dhanshika, Kalaiarasan and Dinesh in the cast. The shooting of the film which began in Chennai continued to take place in Malaysia.

The shooting of  the film took place in Malaysia for a long time. After this schedule, the shooting took place in Bangkok. The shooting continued in Chennai after the Bangkok schedule. Rajinikanth after completing this, took part in the shooting of 2.0 directed by Shankar. Now the final schedule shooting of Kabali will be taking place soon.

As per the story a powerful villain from a foreign country should don an important role. The crew was in search of a suitable person. At this juncture, there was news that the famous Chinese actor Jet Li will be donning this role. When asked about this to director Ranjith, he said that there is no truth in this news.
