Critically acclaimed filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj made his debut directorial through the film ‘Pizza’ following which his next outing was ‘Jigarthanda’.
With both these films belonging to different genres, it was a mere expectation on what could be the next one and what genre would it belong to. Apparently, he came up with a surprise by making ‘Iraivi’, a film based on women centric concept, which has opened in many screens. Nevertheless, with the film carrying an adult and mature theme, the audiences from multiplex love it, but the ones from single screens, particularly the ones from villages and sub-urban areas are feeling it’s too outlandish that audiences from the cultural grounds might not like it.
Iraivi features Vijay Sethupathi, SJ Suryah and Bobby in lead roles while the female lead roles are essayed by Anjali, Kamalinee Mukherjee and Pooja Devariya. The musical score by Santhosh Narayanan has become one of the greatest highlights in the film and the editing by National award winner Vivek Harshan has been greatly appraised.
Meanwhile Karthik Subbaraj has started working on his next script, which will feature Dhanush in lead role and the shooting will commence by this September and will be wrapped up in a span of just 50 days.
