The film is about an ordinary boy (Vishal) trying his best to make a beautiful girl (Tamannaah) fall in love with him. Her elder brother (Jagapathi Babu) is Deputy commissioner of Police, who insists on taking a week time to meet him, but then tortures him through cops and rowdies, but Vishal withstands all and finally wins the heart of her brother. When the time of engagement comes, we get to see that Vishal’s true colour is revealed that he is none other than a CBI officer. But actually, when a criminal comes out of the prison, it is shocking for everyone to hear that Vishal is not a CBI officer, but a criminal who stayed with him in prison. Why Vishal is involved in some conniving mission forms rest of the story.
The film has a running length of 2hrs 30mins and guess what? for nearly 2hrs10 minutes there is nothing in the movie, except the last 20 minutes, where the actual story happens. We are tested with patience to the core and except few humorous sequences of Soori, there isn’t much to celebrate upon. The comeback of Vadivelu isn’t promising as expected. Tamannaah is just used for the sake of glamour.
Overall, Kaththi Sandai is a below average movie that lacks a proper story and narration.
Verdict: Disappointing movie
