This could be the first ever time for the festival of Diwali that theaters might go little lazy and disappointed. Usually, a big star movie would eventually have its place out there and the theaters would see an incredulous success with sale of tickets right with the advance booking plans, but everything looks adverse this time.
Almost all the theaters for the initial day of release look unsold of tickets, especially in the main capital of Chennai. Although Kodi has got its mass appeal and Kaashmora, an unconventional theme, it might get crowds only if there is positive word of mouth after the early morning or initial shows.
It all happened before few years, say around 6 years, where Diwali didn’t have big release and only few low profile movies like Uthama Puthiran, Va Quarter Cutting and Mynaa were released.
It is worth mentioning that Pooja holidays had some big releases like Remo, Rekka and Devi(L) that managed to walk with decent collections. Let us wait and watch if these movies Kodi and Kaashmora manage to make a clean sweep with the word of mouth publicity from tomorrow.
