When it comes to planning, Maniratnam is the unbeatable master, where he makes sure that his intense pre-production works make the momentum of shoot happen in smooth and vigour style. The filmmaker had taken a long hiatus for the script for his current film ‘Kaatru Veliyidai’ that involved the casting process too.But when the shoot started up on July 9, there was no stopping anywhere. The first leg of shoot was success completed in Ooty last week and the team starts filming the second schedule in Chennai from today.The shoot will go on for next one week and immediately, the new schedule would start. This is a clear indication that shooting need not go on for long and long schedules, but with proper planning and rehearsals, it can be wrapped up in a short span of time.
Kaatru Veliyidai features Karthi and Bollywood actress Aditi Rao Hydari in lead roles with Kannada actress Shraddha Srinath will be seen playing a small cameo role and the latest addition is Vatsan Natarajan, a theatre artist in Chennai who would be seen playing the friend of Karthi. The film has musical score by AR Rahman and cinematography by Ravi Varman with Sreekar Prasad working on edit.
