The super hit Marathi film Sairat is to be remade in South Indian languages. Sairat is a film which had Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar in the lead roles. This film has been produced and directed by Nagraj Manjule. Ajay-Atul has composed the music. This film which was critically acclaimed has also raked the box office coffers.
This film which was produced at a cost of Rs 4 Crores yielded a profit of Rs 100 Crores. It has been mentioned that this is the first Marathi film to earn so much profit.
Now producer Rockline Venkatesh has acquired the South Indian language remake rights. He will be producing the remake film in association with the producers who produced Sairat. In a few weeks, the cast and crew will be announced. It has been decided to commence the shooting during the first week of August.
Recently, the film was released in Chennai and almost everyone from the fraternity including Lingusamy, many actors and directors happened to view the film and they were completely spellbound over the making and theme of the story. In fact, many viewers claimed that years after ‘Kadhal’, they are witnessing a love story with lump in throats.
