Mercury becomes first release after 47-day Kollywood strike

TFPC was striking for 47 days for various demands and it is all getting towards an end.  Vishal who is the president of the TFPC has announced that the strike has come to an end and the new films will be released from tomorrow. Shooting of the films will commence from tomorrow after the producers submit the agreement copies to TFPC that will allow FEFSI to give permission for the shoot to start.


At this juncture Mercury which has been directed by Karthik Subburaj is being released tomorrow along with two small budgeted films. After Iraivi, director Karthik Subburaj had directed the film Mercury. Sananth Reddy, Deepak Paramesh, Anish Padman, Shashank, and Remya Nambeesan are donning important roles. Prabhu Deva is donning the role of a dreaded villain. There are no dialogues in this film. Santosh Narayanan has composed the music for this silent thriller. Tirru is handling the camera. Vivek Harshan has edited the film. Stone Bench Films has produced the film in association with Pen Studios. There was an overwhelming response for the first look poster, teaser and trailer released recently.

The crew has mentioned that this film will give a different experience to the audience.
