The birthday of Ilayaraja was celebrated yesterday by Shiva who is directing Kulasekaranum Coolipadaiyum and by the crew of Thittakudi. Ilayaraja who participated in this celebrations said,” I was born on June 3^rd. Since the birthday of Chief Minister Kalaignar falls on the same day, I had postponed my birthday by one day right from my young age.

I have requested the Chief Minister to open a Music University. When God makes up his mind, our thalaivar (leader) will also make up his mind. At that time my dream will be fulfilled. Many are asking me who is my heir. The world does not belong to anyone.

A R Rahman’s music concert is to take place on the final day of the IPL cricket match. The audio launch of Manirathnam’s Raavan is to take place.

The film Raavan which has Vikram, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Prithviraj and Priyamani is being released in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu languages. The audio CD of this film is being released on 24^th of this month. A R Rahman has composed the music for this film.

While speaking to the media music composer Mani Sharma shared with the media about composing music for Vijay starrer Sura. He said,” Even today people watch TV the songs from Vijay starrer Shah Jahan and enjoy it.

After seeing these songs they immediately speak to me over phone and appreciate me. In similar way the song Sarkarai Nilave from the film Youth is still popular. After Pokkiri I am now composing music for the film Sura which has Vijay in the lead. There is good lot of understanding between us. This has helped to bring out the Sura’s songs well.  

Normally there will be importance for Kuthu songs in Vijay films but there is no importance for Kuthu songs in this film. There is only one Kuthu song in this film.  The usual opening song will not be in this film. But we have kept the song Vetri Kodi as the title song.

Kamal Haasan’s daughter Shruthi made her debut as heroine in the Hindi film Luck. After this she composed music for her father’s film Unnai Pol Oruvan.

Shruthi who was concentrating in cutting albums have now turned her eyes towards Bollywood. While speaking about this, she said,” I am concentrating in composing music for South Indian language films. I also composed music for my father’s film.

People accepted me. Now I am staying in a rented house in Mumbai. I had come here to compose music for Hindi films. I was having my own music group. Now it is not there. But I will not lose the status of a singer.
