Since all the theaters are under strike in Tamil Nadu, all the important films release have been postponed. The Tamil Nadu Theaters Association are holding indefinite strike towards the imposition of GST and entertainment tax. If these two taxes are levied than it is for sure that Tamil cinema will diminish.
At this juncture, since the theaters are closed some of the important films which were to be released this month have been postponed. According the film Vikram Vedha which has Vijay Sethupathi and Madhavan in the lead roles was supposed to be released on 7th July. Due to this indefinite strike, it has been announced that the release of the film will be postponed.
Similarly the film Nibunan which has action Arjun and Varalakshmi in the lead roles was supposed to be released on 7th July. The release of this film has also been postponed. Another film Pandigai which has Chandran and Kayal Anandhi in the lead role is also being postponed indefinitely.
The release dates of the films will be announced only after these tax issues are settled amicably.
