At this juncture, advocate Rajasekar accompanied by Vijay, producer Chandraprakash Jain, director A L Vijay and music composer G V Prakash came to Chennai Police Commissioner Office.

They met Additional Commissioner Nallasivam and submitted a petition. After submitting the petition they came out and went away without speaking to the media.
The media received a copy of the petition which they had submitted to the Police Department through an Email.

In the petition it has been stated, “The film Thalaivaa was released throughout the world on 9th of this month but it was not released in Tamil Nadu because of some threats and letters from unidentified people.

The exhibitors have been refusing to screen this film in the theatres. Because of this, the producer and distributors are incurring heavy losses. At this point of time the film has been uploaded in the websites.

Apart from this there are also lots of pirated DVDs. The theatre owners are still refraining from screening this film.

Hence in order to release this film, it has been decided to hold a fast protest on 16th or 17th in which actor Vijay, Sathyaraj, Amala Paul, producer Chandraprakash Jain, director Vijay, music composer G V Prakash, cinematographer Nirav Shah, lyricist Na Muthukumar, other actors and technicians will participate.

Permission is sought for organizing this fast protest at the Government permitted area.” The Police Department has refused permission for this fast.
