This is 25th of Sundar C. The story of this film is about a mess started by a grandfather and how the grandsons run it. The director has narrated this in a comical way.
Normally there will be importance for comedy in Sundar C films but there is something more in this film. There is extraordinary glamour of Anjali and Oviya in Kalakalappu. Many are shocked seeing the excessive glamour of Anjali and Oviya in this film. When asked Sundar C about this, he said, "Anjali has so far been shown as a poor girl or a village girl. Anjali has also acted in such roles. When we told her that she should dance glamorously in two song sequence, she immediately gave her nod. She also mentioned that she wanted to act in glamorous scenes. There was excessive glamour in the song sequences because Anjali herself has agreed.
