Nayanthara refuses to don Silk Smitha’s role in spite of being paid Rs 2 Crores as salary

Vidhya Balan who donned the role of Silk Smitha won the National Award for her best acting. Since this film turned out to be a hit, efforts are being made to remake this film in other languages. This film is being produced in Malayalam and Sana Khan is donning the role of Silk Smitha. Now this film is to be remade in Tamil.

Many of the Tamil actresses were approached to don the role of Silk Smitha. Nayanthara was approached for this role. The producers were ready to pay Rs 2 Crores as salary to Nayanthara but she abruptly refused to don this role. Nayanthara had earlier donned the role of Seetha in her last Telugu film Sri Rama Rajyam. She refused to don this glamorous role because she donned the role of Seetha.
