Samantha quits Shankar’s I

Samantha has decided to quit I to be directed by Shankar like how she quit Manirathnam’s film Kadal.

Karthik’s son Gowtham is making his debut as hero through this film. Samantha was pairing with him.

She quit the film at a time when the first schedule shooting of this film was completed.

Samantha explained that she quit this film because of her call sheet problems but sources close to Manirathnam say that she was ousted out of this film because she looked very elderly to the hero.

At this juncture, Samantha was selected by Shankar for his film I which has Vikram in the lead role. Now there is news that she will be quitting this film also.

Samantha is now taking treatment for her skin problems. It is understood that her doctor has advised that sunlight and heavy lighting should not fall on her skin. The shooting of I is to commence soon.

She is supposed to give 30 days’ continuous call sheet for this film. Samantha feels that this will affect her treatment and because of this she will be quitting this film.

Shankar has now gone to China for scouting locations. Hence he was not able to be contacted but it seems that he is in search of a new Bollywood heroine for his film.
