Samantha has given explanation that why she has a given a sudden break. Samantha had acted in Baana Kaathadi and Naan Ee. She was signed for the female lead roles in the films to be directed by Manirathnam and Shankar but all of a sudden, she quit these films.

It was understood that she had quit these films because she was suffering from skin problems. Moreover she has stopped acting in other films and is taking treatment in her house.
When asked her then when she will start acting, she said, "I have not accepted any new films. My idea is to complete the film that I have accepted earlier. After completing these, I will think about acting in new films. My dreams have started fulfilling now. Because of this I have to encounter lots of problems. This is a tough matter but I will stand on my own legs and win."Samantha who has been cured from her skin disease will participate in the shooting of a film which has Naga Chaitanya from 20th July. This film is being directed by Nandini Reddy. Sources say that she will continue to act in other films after this.
