9 old Tamil films including Aan Paavam, Manmadha Leelai, Thillu Mullu and Pudhiya Padhai are to be remade again

Tamil Remade FilmsThere is a great dearth for stories in the Tamil film industry. The recently released films bombed at the box office. Now it has been decided to remake the hit films of 1980s. Earlier Rajni film Maappillai was remade. This film had Dhanush in the lead role. Later on Mambattiyan was remade.

Even the super hit film Subramaniapuram which was released in 2008 had the backdrop of 80s. Now 9 films pertaining to 80s are being remade. They are Thillu Mullu, Manmadha Leelai, Sattam Oru Iruttarai, Agni Natchathiram, Sakalakala Vallavan, Aan Paavam, Pudhiya Padhai, Amaidhipadai and Indru Poi Naalai Vaa.

The films Manmadha Leelai and Sakalakala Vallavan had Kamal in the lead roles. Thillu Mullu was Rajni’s film. Sattam Oru Iruttarai had Vijayakanth in the lead role while Agni Natchathiram had Prabhu and Karthi in the cast. Aan Paavam had Pandiarajan and Pandian in the cast. Pudhiya Padhai had Parthiban in the lead role. Bhagyaraj had donned the lead role in Indru Poi Naalai Vaa while Amaidhipadai had Sathyaraj in the lead role. Selection is going on for the cast and crew to work in these films. Talks are being held with Vijay, Vikram, Ajith, Surya and Karthi for donning the lead roles in these films.
