Malayalam film actress Isha Talwar is debuting as a heroine in a Tamil film. Thillu Mullu is a film which had Rajni in dual roles. This film which was directed by ace director K Balachandar was released in the year 1981.

This film is now being remade with the same title. Shiva is donning the role which Rajni donned in the original version. Malayalam actress Isha Talwar is pairing with Shiva. She had acted in the recently released Malayalam film Thattathin Marayathu.
The remake Thillu Mullu film has Prakash Raj, Kovai Sarala, Srinivasan, Sathyan, Ilavarasu, Manobala and Brahmanandam in the cast. Badri who had earlier directed films like Ayntham Padai and Thambikku Indha Ooru is directing Thillu Mullu.Legendary music composer M S Viswanathan along with Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing music for this film. In the year 1986, M S Viswanathan had composed music along with Ilayaraja for the Tamil hit film Mella Thirandhathu Kadhavu. The shooting of the film Thillu Mullu has commenced and is going on.
