The film Kaavalan which had Vijay in the lead role faced lots of problems during its release but the title Thuppaki itself has created a big headache now. It was for the ninth time, that case regarding the title has been adjourned by the Court.

The Thuppaki crew has completed all the works connected with the film and has returned to Chennai. The case is coming up for hearing in the Chennai Court on 3rd October. It is expected that a favourable verdict with regard to the title will be given on that day. It has also been decided to release the audio CD of this film on an early date and release this film on Deepavali day.

Some of the crew members feel that the title Mumbai Tamilian will suit because the major portions of the story happen in Mumbai but A R Murugadoss still feels that Thuppaki would be the right title for this film. It seems that he will decide about the change of the title after 3rd October.
