Manirathnam shoots during Neelam Cyclone

Manirathnam conducted shooting during the time of Neelam cyclone. Neelam cyclone threatened Tamil Nadu last Wednesday. Schools and colleges were closed on that day.

Some film shooting and shows in some theatres were also cancelled. Manirathnam is currently directing a film titled Kadal.
 
This film is based on the lives of fishermen folks. Karthik’s son Gowtham and Radha’s daughter Thulasi are in the lead roles in Kadal.
Manirathnam had already planned to shoot a cyclone sequence for the climax. Now he utilized that chance when Neelam cyclone came to Chennai.
 
Manirathnam along with the cameraman Rajeev Menon went to Kasimedu area. In the pouring rain, they shot the storm surge and fiery winds. This shooting took place for one hour.
 
Actor Aravind Swamy while speaking about this said, “It is unforgettable experience to participate in the shooting  during the worst cyclone.”
