There are two good reasons that eventually made Velai Illa Pattadhaari 2 come up with positive results in the box office. The film’s first installment hitting screens before three years turned to be a blockbuster and it marked the 25th film of the actor. The actor kept his fingers crossed with the second part, which got released last week.
It was very well predicted that the film will be witnessing a good opening as the first part outflow of success will definitely have its impact here. Apparently, the film opened with good reception in sub-urban and rural areas along with some centres in multiplex as well.
Initially, Dhanush was supposed to release the film on July 28 for the occasion of his birthday. But he postponed the release on the spur of moment. It is all because of Ajith Kumar’s Vivegam being postponed to August 24. This release date of August 11 had five long holidays including the weekends followed by Krishna Jayanthi and Independence Day.
The 5-day collection of VIP 2 in Tamil Nadu alone makes up to 25Crores approximately. In Kerala, VIP 2 happens to be first grandest opening for Dhanush for having a spin of 4Crore. The Hindi version of VIP2 will be released by PVR Cinemas in 1600 screens on August 18 followed by Telugu release on August 24.
