It looks like the right time has come for Dhanush to pull up his socks as the National award winner didn’t manage to deliver a hit after his 25th film VIP. The actor’s Thodari was released on last Thursday while Vijay Sethupathi’s Aandavan Kattalai happened to hit screens a day later on Friday. To everyone’s surprise, Dhanush’s Thodari in spite of having a decent opening failed to continue its show and loses terribly to Vijay Sethupathi’s Aandavan Kattalai. The film directed by National award winning filmmaker Manikandan collected Rs. 2Crore on the first day itself followed by 8Cr in four days. The film’s opening show had minimum occupancy and the advance booking was very low.But with heavy word of mouth publicity and positive reviews, the shows turned to hold more audiences. Now the film is being moved from small to main screens in almost all the theatres replacing Dhanush’s Thodari.
Thodari directed by Prabhu Solomon collected Rs 4.30Crore on Day 1 followed by an overall sum of Rs. 6.18Crore in Four days. It happened to witness only 1Crore yesterday on Monday and now it’s Aandavan Kattalai ruling the show to a much greater magnitude.
