Comedy actor Vivek had experimented playing lead roles in many movies and they all were settling with the zone called ‘Passable Entertainers’, but didn’t manage to get the top spin of profits and reception. Now he has decided to get away from the usual paradigm and attempt something different. Yes, his upcoming film will be a period thriller set against 1960s titled ‘Thuppariyum Shankar’, where he plays the role of detective.
It is worth mentioning that Gautham Vasudev Menon before few years wanted to make a film based on famous novel ‘Thuppariyum Saambu’, which is almost like Indian Sherlock Holmes. The shelved project was titled as ‘Thuppariyum Anand’ that was to be Ajith Kumar’s 49th film, which was supposed to feature Ajith Kumar as a detective and the story was half based in Chennai and London, but didn’t take off due to some reasons. Nevertheless, Vivek’s Thuppariyum Shankar is based on the same series, but will have different treatment and plot is completely unique as well. Kamalinee Mukherjee, who made her comeback with ‘Iraivi’, is playing the female lead role in this movie and the details about others in the cast and crew will be unveiled shortly.
